What you need to know
Funding your account
The easiest way to fund your account is by debit card.
Transfer existing shares and funds
Transferring your shares to us from another provider is easy, simply complete the appropriate form and we'll take care of the rest. You can also track the progress of your transfer with our online transfer tracking tool.
Stocks and shares ISA transfers
If you hold paper share certificates you can put them into your Trading account so that you can view all of your holdings online.
Take a tour of your new online account.
Choose the market to invest, the stock you wish to trade, whether you want to buy or sell, settlement period and order type. Enter 3 randomly selected characters from your dealing password and then Preview Order.
The price will be valid for 15 seconds while you preview your order and check that the details are correct.
Confirm the order, and you've just placed your first trade!
Enter your Username/ Account Number (which is the same thing) and 3 randomly selected characters from your login password.
You'll be asked to select and provide some additional questions to help protect your account.
You'll be asked if you'd like to set up a Direct Debit to cover our regular account fees.
When you have successfully logged in, you will see your Account Summary Page.

To do this, you'll need to have given us your email address, and additional security questions from your first login. This is also only available to sole name accounts.
